Q: How do I use the EA-Builder Tick Watcher Feature with the MetaTrader Strategy Tester?
A: You just select the file that is shown on the MT price chart while the EA is running.
There was bug in Release 4.0.0.86 where the file name was not written correctly when using the MetaTrade Strategy Tester. The bug has been corrected in 4.0.0.87. You can update from within the VTS EA-Builder, or get the update here:

The full file name is displayed after the text “Tick Watcher Writing to File:”. The file name will look like this if you installed MetaTrader using the /portable option:
