Q: How can I copy my Expert Advisor to all of the MetaTrader Platforms installed on my computer?

A: In the VTS EA-Builder, go to Tools->Options, select the Platform tab, and check the box “All Platforms” next to the EA Output Folder option.

(This option is also helpful if you built an EA, refreshed the folder in MT and still don’t see the EA.  Note: you can inspect the Output window at the bottom of the VTS EA Builder to see exactly where the EA was copied.)

Q: How do I use the EA-Builder Tick Watcher Feature with the MetaTrader Strategy Tester?

A: You just select the file that is shown on the MT price chart while the EA is running.

There was  bug in Release 4.0.0.86 where the file name was not written correctly when using the MetaTrade Strategy Tester. The bug has been corrected in 4.0.0.87. You can update from within the VTS EA-Builder, or get the update here:

The full file name is displayed after the text “Tick Watcher Writing to File:”. The file name will look like this if you installed MetaTrader using the /portable option:
